== Biography ==
He ordained Deacon [[deacon]] in 1932.
He graduated from the [[Theological School of Halki]] in 1939.
In 1950 he ordained Metropolitan of Verroia Alexandretta (Βερροίας και Αλεξανδρέττας).
On 25 September 1970 he was elected Patriarch of Antioch<ref>[http://www.newspapers.com/newspage/62121534/ San Antonio Express 27 September 1970 › Page 98]</ref>.
He passed away in Damascus on June 21, 1979afrer [[heart attack]]<ref>http://almoutran.com/2011/04/866</ref>.
