::: This is the sort of thing that I think needs to be fixed in this article—I've added the expert template to the article to note the need for someone who has some expertise in terms of notability for modern iconographers. —Fr. Andrew talk contribs 13:05, February 2, 2007 (PST)

::: I, too, find this article confusing. It is not in harmony with other Orthodoxwiki articles in that we don't have a collective article, let's say, on priests or missionaries, but have individual articles on the persons involved, collected under a category. I recommend this article be deleted and the individuals discussed in the article be given individual articles as we has for other the "occupations". If we don't have a category for "iconographers" then one should be established. Another facit to this, we have an article on Iconography and this article empacts that one. Other than addressing individuals the two articles cover the same information.

::: If this is the way we want to go, I will form 'stub' like articles for each of the persons described in this article.Wsk 10:07, November 4, 2007 (PST) Addition: Looking at the existing categories, we have both "Iconographers" and Iconographer". Looks like a little work is needed to "cleanup" our organization on iconography!!Wsk 10:12, November 4, 2007 (PST)

:::: I don't think articles need to be made for each of these people. Would they otherwise ever make it into an encyclopedia? The question to ask is, "Is this person of major historical importance?" —Fr. Andrew talk contribs 16:21, November 4, 2007 (PST)

:::::Perhaps significant iconographers should have their own pages (to be included in the extant category), and everyone else should have a link at Icons and Home Items with a heading clarifying that they are writing icons, not offering copies? If there is an interest in keeping an icon image on orthodoxwiki might go into a gallery. Any biographical information here is usually to be found by following the link anyhow. The links for iconography schools and workshops might better fit at the Iconography page. —magda (talk) 16:31, November 4, 2007 (PST)

I did a major overhaul, removed dead links and split the page into iconographers and modern iconographers. It's much cleaner and easier to understand. Frogmanman 14:21, December 23, 2007 (PST)
Nature of the article
I am not sure that this article will ever be encyclopedic in nature. I have continued to add iconographers. Let me know what you think. Joe 20060118
