'''Protection of the Theotokos Monastery''' is a [[monastic]] community for men under the direct jurisdiction [[omophorion]] of the Primate of the OCA[[Orthodox Church in America]], presently [[Metropolitan ]] [[Herman Tikhon (SwaikoMollard) of Washington and New York|HermanTikhon]] of Washington and New York. It is located in the rural mountains of Weaverville in western North Carolina.

The community was founded in 1982in Miami, Florida, and were was received into the Orthodox Church in America in October, 2003 under the direct jurisdiction of the primate of the Orthodox Church in America, His Beatitude Herman, Archbishop of Washington and New York, Metropolitan of All America and Canada, and currently has two priestmonks (including the abbot), one deaconmonk and two monks in residence.<!--small timeline in words-->

Currently, the community has two [[hieromonk]]s (including the [[abbot]]), one [[hierodeacon]], two [[monk]]s and one [[novice]] in residence. The community consists of men living the monastic tradition of a [[Christ]]-centered [[prayer ]] life for the monastic members.

In February 2012, the [[Orthodox Church in America]] announced the transfer of brotherhood of the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos Monastery, Weaverville, N.
