Welcome to OrthodoxWiki!

Hello, Nectarios, and welcome to OrthodoxWiki!

Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Please note that OrthodoxWiki is always in development, so not everything works quite right yet. You can help, though!

OrthodoxWiki is a community-edited encyclopedia of Orthodox Christianity. Articles are created and edited by our members, and so everything that we do here is subject to review and revision. The result is a true consensus product, with every interested editor contributing his own knowledge and writing skills. As such, when you feel that criticism of an article is warranted, we encourage you to join in and fix it! Don't worry about breaking anything or doing something wrong—the other editors here are happy to jump in and help you learn.

Your deleted image(s)

Hello! One or more images which you uploaded has been deleted in according with OrthodoxWiki policy, most likely because you did not provide an appropriate tag for it.

If you feel that this deletion was in error, you may upload the image again, giving it the appropriate tag indicating that the image is legal for OrthodoxWiki to use.

To check which images may have been deleted, take a look at your upload log and look for red links.

We'd love to have the image here - just need to know that you didn't just take it from another website and upload it here, but that we can use it legally. Thanks, — FrJohn (talk)
I didn't delete it (User:ASDamick did) -- he was a little speedy here, but it is true that we are trying to be careful to have permissions for every image uploaded. It's a nice picture, though, and I was able to restore it. Thanks, Yours in Christ, — FrJohn (talk) 05:21, May 28, 2007 (PDT)
Good morning Nectarios! I'm wondering what the source of Image:Innokenty.jpg - it looks very old - maybe in the public domain? I'm just trying to figure out what license to mark it with... The typical one is {{default}}, but {{pd}} might be appropriate in this case. Thanks, — FrJohn (talk)

More on Images

Greetings Nectarios!

I'm wondering if you might be willing to release your images here under a Creative Commons license (see "Choosing a license" -- there are a number of them to choose from. I'm trying to move the wiki away from having images that can't be copied along with the articles. You wouldn't lose any rights to the photo - you could still relicense it any way you wish, and proper attribution would be required. They're good images to have on the site.

Thanks, Yours in Christ, — FrJohn (talk)

Father,

I am not sure how to do that, could you do that for me? You have my permission to put them under a creative commons license. One thing, I dont own the image of Vladyka Benjamin, that is from the OCA mission's blog, you'll have to contact them.

Thanks, Nectarios, much appreciated! May I put them under our default license, which is both Creative Commons (by-sa) and the GFDL (like Wikipedia)? If not, I will simply mark them as CC by (Attribution required, but no other conditions). The Kona photo was uploaded by someone from that community under the default terms here. Thanks, — FrJohn (talk)
Hey Nectarios, we need copyright/permission information on Image:SvetiSavaMileseva2.jpg. Thanks! — FrJohn (talk)
Hello Father, I was trying to do something else, but uploaded the image by mistake. Can you delete it for me? Nectarios 17:29, June 27, 2007 (PDT)
