Hey, I just wanted to explain why I keep undoing your image additions to the capital punishment article. First, you have to directly upload each image to the wiki, not just add a web link. You can do that here: [[Special:Upload]].  Also, then you have to make sure that we can legally use the image: [[Help:Image licenses]]. I mostly try to use wikipedia images, when possible, because they already have an easy-to-use tag and the copyright license is listed below all of them on wikipedia as well (e.g. creative commons, etc.).

After you've done all that, when you're adding an image, put the file's actual name where it says "example." Then you can decide which side of the page to put the image on and what size it should be. I usually use the standard thumbnail size, though you don't have to. You can also add a caption to explain the picture. For example, your end result in an article, after you've already uploaded the image, should look something like this:

<nowiki>[[Image:place name here.jpg|right (or left)|thumb|Write caption here.]]</nowiki>

Sorry it's so complicated, or if I've insulted your intelligence by explaining all this. It certainly took me a long time to figure the formatting out. [[User:Gabriela|Gabriela]] 20:36, April 27, 2007 (PDT)

Image licenses and formatting

Hey, I just wanted to explain why I keep undoing your image additions to the capital punishment article. First, you have to directly upload each image to the wiki, not just add a web link.
