Welcome to OrthodoxWiki!
Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Please note that OrthodoxWiki is always in development, so not everything works quite right yet. You can help, though!
OrthodoxWiki is a community-edited encyclopedia of Orthodox Christianity. Articles are created and edited by our members, and so everything that we do here is subject to review and revision. The result is a true consensus product, with every interested editor contributing his own knowledge and writing skills. As such, when you feel that criticism of an article is warranted, we encourage you to join in and fix it! Don't worry about breaking anything or doing something wrong—the other editors here are happy to jump in and help you learn.

Also please note that other editors will assume that you have read the Style Manual (our official editing guidelines). If you're wondering why an edit was reverted, an article renamed, or any other unexpected changes were made by another editor, check there.
Please also take a few moments to edit your user page by clicking on your name here, so that we can know a bit about you: User:Gabriela. Feel free also to add your picture to the OrthodoxWiki:User gallery.
If you are uploading images, be sure you're doing so legally and according to OrthodoxWiki policy. Failure to abide by policy may result in your images getting deleted without warning.

It looks like you have made some great contributions to this article. I think I imported this from Wikipedia some time ago. Welcome! Joe 2006-05-10
Hagiographical articles, image licenses
Since I definitely want to encourage your contributions, here are a few links which I have found useful:
Also, when importing images from the Wikimedia Commons, please keep in mind that we still need categories and licensing information for each image. (cf. Help:Image licenses)
- Ah, thank you, again. That is helpful. Honestly, the copyright stuff confuses me, but I'll try to note the image licences that wikimedia uses when I borrow images from them; also, I suppose the cut and paste from wikipedia and then slice and dice isn't an option. Whoops. I suppose I should start writing all the material in my articles by my own hand. Gabriela 15:36, 17 May, 2006 (CST)
Just FYI, in the images you've uploaded recently, when you include a bare URL to the image's source, the wiki creates a hotlink to the URL, including the image and thus using the linked site's bandwidth. If you want to link to the source without including the image (which is what would be preferable), then you can do it by means of creating a link, like this: Source. —Dcn. RE: You have to read what you paste over from wikipedia
Thanks for the note! I do read anything I "paste" before doing so. God Bless.
No harm done. In the future, if you want to revert an image to its proper state, look at the list of revisions on the image's description page (e.g., Image:Rublev Trinity.jpg), click on the date references, find the one you want, and hit the "rev" link next to it. —Dcn. - It sounds to me like your browser cache needed to be refreshed. In some browsers, you have to hold down the shift key in order for this to work. I don't know what was happening in your particular case, but I'm pretty sure that there was a cache issue, if only because I know that the image was already fixed before you started in on it. :) —Dcn. I'd like to invite you to become an OrthodoxWiki sysop. This doesn't require much more time or commitment than you've already demonstrated. You'd be part of our ultra-secret OrthodoxWiki Sysop email list, where we work together to battle wiki-evil and talk about various issues affecting the life of OrthodoxWiki, and once in awhile bounce around ideas about its future. Also, you'd have superpowers on the wiki, allowing you to intervene in edit wars, and otherwise better manage articles. Finally, you'd be a reference point for other users - welcoming them in the name of OrthodoxWiki, and helping folks get the hang of the OrthodoxWiki style. Let me know if you'd like to accept this mission by leaving a note on my talk page or emailing me directly. Thanks, — FrJohn (talk)
