Move?

this really should be under Protosyncellus, or even Protosynkellos. Protosyngellos is bad English and even worse Greek. StarovierEd 09:32, March 13, 2007 (PDT)

It's most often spelled protosyngellos in English sources I've seen, probably because that's roughly how it's pronounced. (That's the spelling used, for instance, in the Antiochian Archdiocese of N.A.) Also, it's neither English nor Greek, but rather a Latinization of a modern Greek pronunciation of a Byzantine Greek word. The question really is what is the most common Latinization of this word in English sources.
In any event, after a brief Google check, limiting only to English sources, protosyngellos and protosynkellos are pretty much neck-and-neck with only about two dozen sources for each. I'm not terribly attached to either one. —Fr. Andrew talk contribs 10:03, March 13, 2007 (PDT)
