Talk:List of Patriarchs of Constantinople

Revision as of 23:13, May 22, 2008 by Ixthis888 (talk | contribs)

revised appearance

This was hard to format but I revised the appearance of this article to incorporate the various Christian "eras" (as defined by the Timeline of Church History article without compromising the original categories of this article and (b) compact the appearance, ie. reduce from 1 column into 3 - to make it easier to read. it is now available for editing by others! More detailed list here : http://www.fordham.edu/halsall/byzantium/texts/byzpatcp.html Can we use it? --Inistea 22:04, May 22, 2008 (UTC)

I would love to compare the information to the original list we used to compile the Patriarch list - are you suggesting that we could improve the format on our own page so that we have a column with the name and perhaps another column with dates? PS. I will be visiting Constantinople in October and one of my goals is to visit the Patriarchio and ask for various bits of information (that interest me) perhaps I can include an indepth study on the list of Patriarchs? What concerns me with your link (insitutes like Fordham) is that theyre primary bias is Roman Catholic/Jesuit in thinking and that inturn "manages" their thinking process and there historical "conclusions" because they do not consider the basis of "miracles etc" as evidence supporting science/fact ... and using 'facts' derived only from human comprehension could produce a misleading understanding of our own Orthodox heritage. What are your thoughts Pater? Vasiliki 23:13, May 22, 2008 (UTC)
