Capitalization question
Ok, style gurus (i.e. Fr Andrew or Fr John, probably): should lectionary be capitalized when one specific lectionary isn't being referenced? I can't seem to see where in the capitalization style guide section it would fit in, unless you count it as a specific title. - Lectionary is not a specific book (meaning that you wouldn't go to the psaltiri and pick up "The Lectionary" to read from), so it isn't capitalized. The Apostolos, Gospel, etc. are specific texts and would be capitalized.
- Names of services are generally capitalized (for example, we celebrated Great Vespers for the Annunciation last night.) However: there are four varieties of divine liturgy; that of St. John, St. Basil, St. James, and Presanctified.) Paterakis 22:25, March 23, 2007 (PDT)
