I am told that a non-monastic deacon does not wear a kamilavka at all in the Russian tradition, except if he is a protodeacon who has been awarded the purple (or red) kamilavka. But a monastic deacon, or hierodeacon, always has the right to wear a *black* kamilavka. Anyone have light to shed? --Fr Lev (talk) 16:27, January 13, 2020 (UTC)
