I have not found any evidence that references to St. John as a Bishop. It might be more accurate to refer to him as St. John Damascene.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Gsarraf (talk • contribs) .

Χρυσορρόας - Χρυσόστομος
I just want to remark that John of Damascus was known as Χρυσορρόας, Chrysorroas, which is not the same as Chrysostom (Χρυσόστομος). That's why I've done this reversion. --Filius Rosadis 01:52, September 13, 2007 (PDT)
