"Where Are They Now?"

Out of curiosity, does anybody know where the monk Irenaios went to live after leaving the patriarchate? --Matrona 10:14, 5 November 2005 (CST)

According to Archbishop Aristarchos in a report by AsiaNews, the former patriarch "is in his room and working peacefully" [1]. The new Patriarch Theophilus III is till struggling to get recognised by the Israeli government [2]. "In everyday life, without a letter of recognition by the Government, many private and public bodies - for example, banks, companies, but also the land registry and various Government agencies - often refuse to deal with the Patriarch in his capacity of legal representative of the corporation he heads."

Irenaios's status

The Patriarch of Jerusalem Irineos I, he is not a monk and he still lives in the Pathriarchate of Jerusalem. All that he was accussed was False. He is still innocent and there is proven documents from the higher court of Israel and Palestinian Authorities. If you need more information please email me at iviscus@aol.com. thanks

OrthodoxWiki is governed by the Mainstream Chalcedonian Bias, which is pretty unanimous in recognizing the deposition of Irenaios I and the election of Theophilos III. —Fr. Andrew talk contribs 13:32, January 4, 2007 (PST)
Speaking of which, I'm not sure on ecclesiastical norms, but as he's been defrocked to status of monk, wouldn't Irenaios lose the 'of Jerusalem' part of his name (and hence, the title of the article)? — edited by Pιsτévο talk complaints at 06:41, January 11, 2007 (PST)
