Fr Georges should be referred as Archpriest (which corresponds to his rank in Russian: Протоиерей) instead of Protopresbyter, as Archpriest is one rank lower than Protopresbyster in the Slavic tradition. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Stmitrophan (talkcontribs) .

Do we have a source cited for either rank? —Fr. Andrew talk contribs (THINK!) 11:29, April 6, 2009 (UTC)

Fr Georges was a priest of the Patriarchate of Constantinople. Protopresbyter is the highest rank among the Greeks and the Russians. Archbishop Chrysostomos of Etna, who studied under Fr Georges, wrote an article entitled "Protopresbyter Georges Florovsky" ( In Constantine Cavarnos' book Father Georges Florovsky on Ecumenism, there is a section entitled "A Note on Protopresbyter Georges Vasilievich Florovsky." --Fr Lev 00:11, April 7, 2009 (UTC)

The article claims he was active in the Ecumenist movement. I would like to know if he died with the same point of view since I hear that towards the end of his life ... he completely changed his thinking and I would think that it is important to reflect that in the article.
