What is the OW position on how to represent Uniate saints? For some reason a canonical church (OCA) canonised him as a saint but I am aware that "Uniates" are not considered canonical (and as an example they killed Saint Maksym (in Poland) who is an Eastern Orthodox saint, for this very reason. He spent his life vocalising this as a heresy and that is why they killed him. So, this conflict perhaps confuses me on how to represent this man on my [[Timeline of Saints]] article. A canonical church canonises a non-canonical man?? Any clarifications/thoughts would be greatly appreciated. ~~[[User:Ixthis888|Ixthis888]], 24 March 2012.

Uniates

What is the OW position on how to represent Uniate saints? For some reason a canonical church (OCA) canonised him as a saint but I am aware that "Uniates" are not considered canonical (and as an example they killed Saint Maksym (in Poland) who is an Eastern Orthodox saint, for this very reason. He spent his life vocalising this as a heresy and that is why they killed him. So, this conflict perhaps confuses me on how to represent this man on my Timeline of Saints article. A canonical church canonises a non-canonical man?? Any clarifications/thoughts would be greatly appreciated. ~~Ixthis888, 24 March 2012.
