His Eminence '''Proterios (Pavlopoulos) of PtolemaisDiospolis''' in Upper Egypt, is Metropolitan of the [[Metropolis of Ptolemais]], part a retired hierarch of the Greek Orthodox [[Church of Alexandria|Patriarchate of Alexandria]] and All Africa.
==Life==
Stylianos was [[ordination|ordained]] [[deacon]] and [[priest]] in 1972, by His Eminence Methodios of Aksum. Over the following years Fr. Proterios served in a number of countries including Ethiopia, Malta, Great Britain, South Africa, and Greece in various positions including [[chancellor]] and hierarchal vicar.
He was elected, on [[February 22]], 2001, Archbishop of the new Archdiocese of Dar Es Salaam in eastern Tanzania by the [[Holy Synod]]. He was consecrated on [[March 3]], 2001. On [[October 27]], 2004 to the [[see]] of Metropolitan Archbishop of Ptolemais. On November 26,2014, His Eminence retired from active service, being appointed titular Archbishop of Diospolis.
