Seraphim (Voepel)
Igumen Seraphim (Voepel) is the Deputy Abbot of the Hermitage of the Holy Cross, an English-speaking male monastery in the Eastern American Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia.
Biographical sketch
2004: Hieromonk and superior at the hermitage. 2009: Hermitage of the Holy Cross became an independent monastery. Bp George made abbot; Fr Seraphim made deputy abbot. 2011: Fr Seraphim diagnosed with kidney cancer 2012: Fr Seraphim diagnosed with squamous cell cancer in his right tonsil. Subsided in 2012, reappeared in Oct 2013. 2014: With the financial aid of the Fund For Assistance, Fr Seraphim underwent multiple aggressive rounds of chemotherapy. He returned to serving at Pascha 2014. 2015: With Bp George's transfer to the Australian and New Zealand Diocese, Fr Seraphim to become abbot.
