Timeline

  • 1949: Born in Athens. Went on to complete secondary education at Halandri of Attica, then theology at the University of Salonika (earning a BD), doing honours in the faculty of practical theology at University of Salonika.
  • 1975: Ordained deacon, then priest.
  • 1976: Fr. Seraphim served in the Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain.
  • 1980: Fr. Seraphim was transferred to Holy Metropolis of Nea Krini and Kalamaria, served as parish priest of Church of St. Paraskevi.
  • 1986: Archbishop Stylianos invited Fr. Seraphim to Australia. Appointed parish priest at Archdiocesan Church of St. Eustathios, Melbourne, where Bishop Ezekiel of Dervis was serving.
  • 1991 Mar 12: Fr. Seraphim elected Bishop of Apollonia.
30: Consecrated Bishop of Apollonia. Appointed to First Archdiocesan District of New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory, based in Sydney, as Assistant Bishop to Archbishop Stylianos.
