The College is a private, non-profit undergraduate institution of liberal arts and sciences that focuses on integrative teaching in classical core subjects in addition to instruction in major-specific requirements. The College is authorized by the California Bureau for Private Post-secondary Education (BPPE) to award Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Science (BS) degrees in ten majors. A flexible interdisciplinary studies program allows students to develop their own concentration.

The college athletic department which began in Spring 2013 now supports 11 teams of SKC "Firebirds" including men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, women's volleyball, and men's baseball. The majority of the student population are student athletes with Orthodox Christian students comprising approximately 18% of the total student body.

Church Affiliation

The College is an independent institution of higher education that is closely associated with the Orthodox Christian community. There are approximately 300 million Orthodox Christians worldwide committed to the undivided Christian faith as revealed in Holy Scripture, the Nicene Creed, and the historic texts and Ecumenical Councils of the Christian Tradition. The College has received the blessings and encouragement of the western Orthodox Christian hierarchs who serve on the Board of Directors on a rotating basis. The President serves on the Theological Education Committee of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of North and Central America.

SKC Press

By publishing serious works that contribute to a global understanding of human affairs from a range of Christian perspectives, Saint Katherine College Press participates in the discovery and dissemination of inquiry seeking wisdom, which is the central purpose of the College. The publications of the Press are the Saint Katherine Review and books and other materials that further scholarly investigation, advance interdisciplinary inquiry dialogue, stimulate public debate, educate both within and outside the classroom, and enhance cultural life. The Press is committed to increasing the range and vigor of intellectual pursuits within the College and the community at large.

Religious Life

Several weekly offerings including worship services in Saint Katherine chapel. Students are encouraged to attend regular services at a church of their choice and participate in the life of local church communities. Students participate in a wide variety of service-learning and philanthropic projects.
