Rufus the Obedient

The Venerable Rufus the Obedient of the Kiev Far Caves was a monk who lived at the Monastery of the Kiev Caves during the fourteenth century. He was noted for his obedience and was praised as a lover of labor and fasting. His relics are buried in the Far Caves of St. Theodosius. He is commemorated April 8.

The Venerable Rufus is also commemorated on August 28 with Holy Fathers whose relics repose in the Far Caves of St. Theodosius: the Synaxis of the the Holy Fathers of the Far Caves.
