Pope is a title of honor, meaning "papa" in Greek, given to bishops in the following churches: Church of Alexandria, Church of Alexandria (Coptic), and both the pre-schism Church of Rome and the modern-day Roman Catholic Church.

The current Coptic Orthodox pope of Alexandria and the Patriarch of the Holy See of Saint Mark is Pope Shenouda III.

The current pope of the Roman Catholic Church is Joseph Ratzinger who took the name Benedict XVI.

The current Eastern Orthodox Patriarch and Pope of Alexandria and all Africa is Beatitude Patriarch Theodore (Theodoros) II.
