Pope is a title of honor, meaning papas in Greek, given to bishops in the following churches: Church of Alexandria, Church of Alexandria (Coptic), and Church of Rome.

The current Coptic Orthodox Pope of Alexandria and the Patriarch of the Holy See of Saint Mark is Pope Shenouda III.

The current Roman Catholic Pope of the Holy See of Peter is Joseph Ratzinger who took the name Benedict XVI.

The current Eastern Orthodox Patriarch and Pope of Alexandria and all Africa is Beatitude Patriarch Theodore (Theodoros) II.
