Photios was born in Chalcedon on [[April 21]], 1924.  He studied at the Great Patriarchal School and later at the [[Theological School of Halki]].  He was ordained to the [[diaconate]] by Metropolitan [[Maximus V of Constantinople|Maximos of Chalcedon]] and served as [[Archdeacon]] of the Metropolis of Chalcedon.  In 1959 he was elected Bishop of Tralles, serving as an auxilliary to the Metropolitan of Chalcedon.  He was elected Metropolitan of Imbros and Tenedos in 1972 and served in that role until 2002, when he was selected as Metropolitan of Heraclea.

Life

Photios was born in Chalcedon on April 21, 1924. He studied at the Great Patriarchal School and later at the Theological School of Halki. He was ordained to the diaconate by Metropolitan Maximos of Chalcedon and served as Archdeacon of the Metropolis of Chalcedon. In 1959 he was elected Bishop of Tralles, serving as an auxiliary to the Metropolitan of Chalcedon. He was elected Metropolitan of Imbros and Tenedos in 1972 and served in that role until 2002, when he was selected as Metropolitan of Heraclea.

Metropolitan Photios died on June 24, 2007, at the Baloukli Hospital in Constantinople.
