Panagia Agiosortissa, known as the Intercessor, is a representation of the Virgin Mary where she is shown alone, in profile, facing towards her left with her hands held out in supplication, or sometimes holdings a scroll. Icons of this type show her in full height, without her child and sometimes carrying a scroll.
