*1983: Mother [[Barbara (Johnson)]], formerly abbess of Holy Assumption Monastery, took up residence at St Eugene's Hermitage.  She, along with those with her, were called the Community of the Holy Cross.
 
*1988: Work on chapel completed, consecrated in memory of St Sergius of Radonezh and in the same year as the Milennium of Russian Orthodoxy.
