As long as feedback is being sought, here is my thoughts on the matter: I think it would be a shame to make even the smallest one completely inaccessible, and I don't know what you had in mind for archiving them, but to break all the current links wouldn't be my choice either.  However, could ones that have very few pages or very little activity maybe be "locked down" as inactive until the time that there's sufficient interest to maybe unlock it again.  I don't know if the user accounts have to be created for each language separately, but if all accounts get created through the English version, I could see how this *could* invite spammers to, say, create an account on the English wiki, and then trash one in another language.    Secondly, I guess I would also suggest that "sufficient interest" to start/resurrect a language wiki would maybe start with at least 3-5 people, because in my two decades on the internet now, I only know of a couple of websites that are truly comprehensive on their subjects and been consistently maintained and updated through the long haul (10+ years) by one person. The BBC website at http://news.bbc.co.uk is reporting that Patriarch Eirenaios has been deposed in a letter signed by thirteen bishops. This apparently has to do with selling some property in the Old City of Jerusalem to a Jewish organization. Perhaps mention could be made on the news page and on the page for the Church of Jerusalem. Tks, Ed Eddieuny 22:10 UTC 5 May 2005

::Hi Ed, I just read that story too. I think we shouldn't try to reflect every news update that comes - that's a losing game! We can certainly reflect the events in the article once the dust settles and everything becomes history though. Thanks, Fr. John

My two cents about inactive language wikis

(The Charley Project and Cyndi's List are the ones that come to mind.) Katjuscha (talk) 03:30, May 13, 2016 (UTC)

Thanks, Katjuscha. I do think there is some degree of responsibility to preserve work done by people in the community. I would not like any good contribution to go to waste. On the other hand, each localization comes with some maintenance overhead, and pruning makes for a better overall user experience. Right now, I am thinking that at least IT and TL should be archived. Of course, they could be reconstituted if there is sufficient interest. — FrJohn (talk)
