OrthodoxWiki:Protected page guidelines

From OrthodoxWiki
Jump to: navigation, search
This page is an official policy on OrthodoxWiki. It has wide acceptance among editors and is considered a standard that all users should follow. If you are part of the administration, please feel free to update this page as needed, but make sure that changes you make to this policy really do reflect OrthodoxWiki's perspective before you make them.

  • Be judicious. Do not make edits that will be controversial. Consider your edits with a mind toward how they will be viewed by other sysops.
  • If you think you might engender controversy, make suggestions in the Talk page of the article in question.
  • If an article or section has been protected for copyright reasons, leave it alone except for transcription errors. Make suggestions in the Talk page, but OrthodoxWiki must be strict in this regard to avoid copyright infringement.
  • Do not edit protected user pages besides your own, unless for grave reasons. If you are caught editing another user's user page for unjust cause (read: most any reason except obscenity or some similar grave cause), your sysop privileges and likely your editing privileges will be revoked immediately.

Continued and flagrant violation of these guidelines and common courtesy to other sysops will result in revocation of your sysop privileges.
