The monastery is located in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, and was established to be the seat of the bishop of the Free Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Australia and New Zealand<!--under the [[omophorion]] of so-and-so in 19xx-->; since the reintegration of the New Gracanica Metropolitanate into the [[Church of Serbia]], this monastery has been the residence of the bishop of both the New Gracanica and the patriarchal dioceses.
