==Life==<br />
Bishop Mitrophan was born in 1951 in the village of Ljusa, Sipovo, in Bosna. After he completed his basic education in 1966, he entered the [[seminary]] at Monastery Krka, in central Dalmatia, Croatia, from which he graduated in 1971. Having chosen a [[monasticism|monastic]] life, in 1970, he was [[tonsure]]d a[[monk]], with the name Mitrophan, and [[ordination|ordained]] a [[hierodeacon]] on successive days by Bishop Stefan (Boce). <br />

Dcn. Mitrophan continued his education at the Theological Faculty in Bucharest, Romania, completing his studies in 1975. After his ordination to the [[priest]]hood, he was assigned to the Seminary of the Holy Three Hierarchs in the Monastery Krka in 1977. In 1979, Father Mitrophan passed his professorship exam. In 1980, he was assigned as assistant Rector of the Seminary and raised to the position of Rector in 1987.<br />

In 1987, Fr. Mitrophan was elected to the[[episcopate]] by the Assembly of Bishops of the Church of Serbis as [[Vicar]] [[Bishop]] of Toplica and appointed him assistant to Dr. Sava, Administrator of the Diocese of Midwestern America. Subsequently, he was appointed to the position of administrator of the diocese, a position he remained in until his appointment as Bishop of Eastern America in 1991.<br />
