Metropolis of Kitros, Katerini, and Platamon

The Metropolis of Kitros, Katerini, and Platamon, also Metropolis of Kitros, is one of the metropolises of the New Lands in Greece that is under the jurisdiction of the Church of Constantinople but de facto is administered for practical reasons as part of the Church of Greece under an agreement between the churches of Athens and Constantinople. [1]

The metropolis is located in Central Macedonia in northern Greece.

Metropolitan

His Eminence Metropolitan Agathonikos (Fatouros) of Kitros, Katerini, and Platamon was born in 1937 in Egio, on the southern side of the Gulf of Corinth in Achaia, Greece. He was elected and consecrated Metropolitan of Kitros, Katerini, and Platamon in 1985. His cathedra is in Katerini.
