His Grace, the Very Reverend Meletios (Kamiloudes) of Kolwezi is Bishop of the Diocese of Kolwezi, part of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa.

Life

Meletios Kamiloudes was born in 1948 in M. Monastirion in Larisa. His education was at the Higher Ecclesiastical School of Lamia and the Theological Faculty of the University of Athens. In 1972, he took monastic vows and was tonsured a monk. In 1974, he was ordained deacon, followed in 1976 as priest. In 1974, Dn. Meletios joined the brotherhood on the Monastery of Gregoriou on Mount Athos.

Leaving Mount Athos in 1989, Fr. Meletios began eighteen years of service at Kolwezi in Congo as a missionary. On November 1, 2006, he was elected Bishop of Kolwezi, of the newly established Diocese of Kolwezi. He was consecrated on November 25, 2006 by Patriarch Theodoros II at the Patriarchal Church of St. Savvas the Sanctified in Alexandria.

On October 9, 2009, the Patriarchate of Alexandria changed the name of the Diocese of Kolwezi to the Diocese of Katanga. Accordingly, the title for Bishop Meletios was changed to Bishop of Katanga.
