Mark (Forsberg) of Boston
His Grace, the Right Reverend Bishop Mark (Forsberg) of Boston was the ruling bishop of the Albanian Archdiocese of the Orthodox Church in America with the title of Bishop of Boston. Bp. Mark was the successor to Bp. Stephen (Lasko) who reposed in 1975.
Born in Detroit, MI on April 2, 1934, he was ordained as a Melkite Greek Catholic deacon and priest in 1964. The following year, he was received into the Orthodox Church. While pursuing studies at Saint Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary, he served Saint George Antiochian Orthodox Church, Albany, NY and later Saint George Antiochian Orthodox Church, Wichita, KS.
Fr. Mark Forsberg was a priest in the Albanian diocese of the Orthodox Church in America before his elevation to the episcopate. After the repose of Bp. Stephen (Lasko). Fr. Mark was consecrated bishop in 1976 and led the Albanian Archdiocese until his retirement in 1983. In retirement, Bp. Mark has been attached to Orthodox Cathedral of Christ the Saviour in Miami Lakes, FL.
He reposed on January 8, 2018. He is buried at Vista Memorial Gardens, Miami Lakes, FL.
