History
Malankara Syriac Orthodox Church or simply Jacobite Syrian Christian Church is one of the oldest Christian communities in India. It is believed to have established by Apostle Thomas in his journey to India in 52 AD.
Head of the Church in India is Catholicos Baselios Thomas I and the supreme head is the H.H. Ignatius Zakka I Iwas, the Patriarch of Antioch and all the East.
Leadership
The first hierarch of the Church is the Catholicos of the East. The current Catholicos is His Beatitude Mor Baselius Thomas I.
