His Eminence '''Laurence I of Kazan''', also '''Lavrenty I of Kazan''', was the ruling hierarch of the [[Diocese of Kazan|Eparchy of Kazan]] of the [[Church of Russia]] as [[Archbishop]] in the sixteenth century, serving from 1568 to 1574.
==Life==
Little is known of the life of Archbishop Laurence. He was an [[igumen]] at the Joseph-Volokolamsk Monastery of which he also served as the [[abbot]] from 1566. On [[February 9]], 1568, he was [[consecration of a bishop|consecrated]] Archbishop of Kazan. Abp. Laurence apparently returned to Volokolamsk Monastery during his last days. He died on [[July 13]], 1574 and was buried at the Volokolamsk Monastery.
