Successor to St. [[Cyril of Jerusalem]], Patr. John II initiated the construction of the Sion Church in Jerusalem. In 415, he took part in the [[Translation (relics)|translation ]] of the [[relics]] of St. [[Apostle Stephen the Protomartyr|Stephen the Protomartyr]] from his tomb in the village of Kafargamala to Jerusalem in cooperation with [[Bishop]]s Eusthonus of Sebaste and Eleutherus of Jericho.
