John (Zlobin) of Alaska

His Grace John (Zlobin) of Alaska was a hierarch of the Russian Metropolia in North America, serving as Bishop of Alaska from 1945 and 1952.

Life

During the late 1920s Archimandrite John served as the parish priest of St. Nicholas parish in Portland, Oregon. In 1927, he was assigned as the first permanent priest of the Church of the Myrrhbearing Women in Bryte, California, now West Sacramento, California.

In 1945, he was consecrated the Bishop of Alaska, a see that he served until 1952. Bp. John reposed on May 28, 1958 in Luzerne County in Pennsylvania.
