Hieromonk Joachim (Ross) is the current superior of St. John the Baptist Skete, Kentlyn in New South Wales, Australia.
Short biography
During January 1994, whilst on pilgrimage in Serbia, Fr Joachim went from Decani Monastery to Black River Monastery and, through the intercessions of St Peter of Korisha, was healed of his migraines.
Before his reception into ROCOR, Hmk Joachim was at the former Protection of the Theotokos Skete, Tallong, NSW, under the omophorion of the Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Australia and New Zealand (Patriarchal).
In 1999 Hieromonk Joachim received a canonical release from the Serbian Orthodox Church to the ROCOR. He was invited by the then diocesan bishop, Archbishop Hilarion, to rebuild the Kentlyn Skete and restore cenobitic monastic life, as well as to provide a base for missionary work amongst anglophonic Australians.
