==Election as Bishop and Metropolitan==Metropolitan On [[April 10]], 1986, Archim. Isaiah was elected to the episcopacy by the [[Holy Synod]] of the [[Ecumenical Patriarch]]ate in Istanbul (Constantinople), Turkey, on . He was [[April 10consecration of a bishop|consecrated]], 1986. He was consecrated a bishop on [[May 25]], 1986, at Holy Trinity Cathedral in New York City, and was given the title of ''Bishop of Aspendos'', a former Christian city in southwestern Asia Minor. In 1996, the Archdiocese of North and South America was reorganized with the formation of the Archdiocese of America and re-designations of the dioceses as metropolises. Isaiah to Metropolitan of Proikonisos and Presiding Hierarch of the Greek Orthodox Diocese of Denver. Metropolitan Isaiah was also appointed as President of Hellenic College/Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology on [[July 1]], 1997, by His Eminence Archbishop [[Spyridon (Papageorge) of America|Spyridon]] of America. On [[December 20July 1]], 20021997, the Ecumenical Patriarchate elevated the status Metr. On [[December 20]], 2002, the Ecumenical Patriarchate changed the status of the diocese to that of metropolis, that resulted in a change in 2003 of Metr, Isaiah's title to Metropolitan of Denver.
