Elias IV (Muawad) of Antioch
Patriarch Elias (born Elias Muawad; 1912, Lebanon - June 21, 1979, Damascus) was Patriarch of Antioch and All the East.
Biography
He ordained Deacon in 1932.
He graduated from the Theological School of Halki in 1939.
In 1950 he ordained Bishop Verroia Alexandretta.
On 25 September 1970 he was elected Patriarch of Antioch.
He passed away in Damascus on June 21, 1979.
