Diocese of New England (OCA)

The Diocese of New England is a diocese of the Orthodox Church in America. Its territory includes parishes and missions located in six states in the United States – Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. The diocesan chancery is located in Southbridge, Massachusetts.

The diocese was under the leadership of His Grace, the Right Reverend Nikon (Liolin) until his repose on September 1, 2019. He was consecrated as a bishop on May 25, 2002, and installed as the ruling bishop of the diocese of New England on December 17, 2005. His successor has yet to be announced. On September 10, 2019, the OCA announced that Metropolitan Tikhon (Mollard) will be the locum tenens for the diocese until a successor is found.

Deaneries

The three deaneries of the diocese and their territories are:

  • Boston Deanery – Eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island
  • Connecticut Deanery – Connecticut and Western Massachusetts
  • Northern Deanery – Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont
