His Holiness '''Daniel (Ciobotea)''' is the [[Archbishop]] of Bucharest, [[Metropolitan ]] of Moldova Muntenia and BukovinaDobrodgea, part ''[[locum tenens]]'' of the throne of [[Caesarea]] of Cappadocia, [[Patriarch]] of the [[Romanian Orthodox Church]] and interim , was elected the sixth Patriarch of Romania and enthroned in the patriarchal [[RomaniaCathedral]] on the [[September 30]], 2007.
==Life==
His Eminence Doctor Daniel Ciobotea was born on the [[July 22]], 1951 , in the village of Dobreşti, Bara Commune, as the 3rd third son in the family of Alexie (a teacher Alexie ) and Stela Ciobotea.
He followed attended primary school in his home village (1958 - 1962) and the gymnasium in Lăpuşnic village (1962 - 1966), Timiş County. In 1966 he begins began high School school courses in Buziaş, which he then continues continued in Lugoj, at the "Coriolan Brediceanu" (1967 - 1970).
After passing his baccalaureate exam, he then joins joined the University Theological Institute in Sibiu (1970 - 1974), where he obtains the obtained his License in Theology at the discipline in [[New Testament]]studies.
During the period 1974 - 1976 he follows took doctoral courses at the University Theological Institute in Bucharest, Systematic Section, under the supervision of Priest Professor Doctor Dr. [[Dumitru Staniloae|Dumitru Stăniloae]]; he continues continued his studies over the seasoverseas: two years at the Protestant Theology Faculty of the University of Human Studies in Strasbourg and another two years at the Albert Ludwigs University of Freiburg, Catholic Theology Faculty.

Essai sur le rapport entre la théologie et la spiritualité, VII ^ 424 p." (''Christian reflection and life today. Essay on the report between theology and spirituality, VII ^ 424 pgs.'') The Thesis has thesis had been prepared under the suppervision supervision of two well-known French profesorsprofessors: Gerard Ziegwald and André Benoit , and it has received the maximum qualification. Thus he becomes Doctor became a doctor of the Strasbourg University.
A more developed form of this thesis was prepared under the guidance of his mentor, Father Fr. Dumitru Stăniloae , and it was sustained presented on the [[October 31]], 1980 , at the University Theological Institute in Bucharest under the title: "''Teologie şi spiritualitate creştină. Raportul dintre ele şi situaţia actuală" '' (''Theology and Christian spirituality. The report relation between them and the current situation'').
By passing the oral exam and by sustaining the supporting his thesis, Dan-Ilie Ciobotea was declared Doctor in a doctor of Orthodox Theology, obtaining maximum pointagepoints.
In 1987 he enters entered the [[monastic ]] life in the [[Sihastria Monastery (Bucovina, Romania)|Sihăstria Monastery ]] under the name ''Daniel'', having as his monastic [[godfather ]] the famous Father Fr. [[Cleopa Ilie]].
