Japan falls under the Coptic jurisdiction served by H.G. Bishop Daniel of Sydney and affiliated regions since 2002 [1].

Father Demian el Antouny (of St. Anthony's Coptic Orthodox Monastery, Red Sea, Egypt) has been appointed to be the serving priest in Japan, serving the first altar for the Coptic Orthodox Church in Japan — St. Mark the Evangelist Coptic Orthodox Church.
