Australia has a large number of Egyptian Christian immigrants, mainly Coptic Orthodox. This immigration mainly started in the late 1960s.

The Coptic Orthodox congregations in Australia are served by two Coptic Orthodox dioceses with over 50 parishes, two monasteries, two theological colleges and five schools.
