Rev. Hmk. '''''Nicholas (Manovitch)''''' was the founding priest of St Michael Orthodox Church, Dunedin. He appears to have received ordination from a [[bishop]] in Canada that was outside the Orthodox Church, then went to New Zealand where he encouraged the Orthodox Syrians to found St Michael's, pastoring it between 1913-16, and went to Australia where he had close ties to the Bolshevik group in Brisbane. He was arrested for extortion, demanding outrageous amounts of money for [[baptism]]s and weddings, and disappeared from the religious scene when Fr. [[Paul Korchinsky ]] came to Australia, at the request of the Russian Imperial Consul-General. He died in 1925 and is buried in Queensland.

Fr Ian was ordained to the priesthood in January 2003 (the seventh Antiochian priest to be ordained for New Zealand), deemed worthy of the privilege of being a Confessor and granted the [[epigonation]] in May 2006. He was elevated to Archpriest in May 2009.
