Autonomous Archdiocese of Ohrid

The Orthodox Ohrid Archidiocese (Macedonian: Православна Охридска Архиепископија) is an autonomous Orthodox church whose primate is confirmed by the Church of Serbia. It is established 2003, when Metropolitan of Veles and Povardarje Jovan, from canonicly unrecognized Macedonian Orthodox Church, accepted Niš agreement. On 24th May 2005, on the Feast of the Ss. Cyril and Methodius Holy Assembly of Bishops of Serbian Orthodox Church granted autonomy to Ohrid Archidiocese . This church is in full comunion with other Orthodox Churches but its autonomy is currently not recognized in international Orthodox gatherings.

Current primate is Archbishop of Ohrid and Metropolitan of Skopje Jovan (Vraniškovski).
