Apostle Tychicus

The holy, glorious, all-laudable '''Apostle Tychicus''' (Greek Τυχικός; also ''Tychikos'') is one of the [[Apostles#The_Seventy|Seventy Apostles]] and was a [[bishop]] in [[Caesarea]]. He is commemorated by the Church on [[January 4]] with the Seventy and on [[December 8]] with Ss. [[Apostle Apollo|Apollos]], [[Apostle Cephas|Cephas]], [[Apostle Sosthenes |Sosthenes]], [[Apostle Epaphroditus|Epaphroditus]], [[Apostle Caesar|Caesar]], and [[Apostle Onesiphorus|Onesiphorus]].
St. Tychicus was a [[disciple]] and companion of the holy [[Apostle Paul]]. During St. Paul's first imprisonment, he delivered the [[Epistle]]s to the [[Ephesians]] and to the [[Colossians]]. He replaced St. Sosthenes as bishop at Caesarea. He departed peacefully to the Lord.
