The holy, glorious, all-laudable Apostle Gaius (also Gaios) is numbered among the Seventy Apostles. He was Bishop of Ephesus (Romans 16:23). The Third Epistle of John is addressed to the "well-beloved Gaius".

The Church remembers St. Gaius on January 4 among the Seventy, and on November 5.
