The holy, glorious, all-laudable Apostle Cresecens is numbered among the Seventy Apostles. He was a companion of the Apostle Paul (I Timothy 4:10), and later was Bishop of Galatia. He was also a missionary in Gaul. It was there that he was martyred under Emporer Trajan. The Church remembers St. Crescens on July 30.
