The concept of the monastery was blessed by Archbishop [[Dmitri (Royster) of Dallas|Dmitri of Dallas]] and the South on [[November 15]], 2000. Organizational difficulties delayed the activation of the monastery until 2009 when Bp [[Jonah (Paffhausen) of Washington|Jonah]], [[auxiliary bishop]] to Abp. Dmitiri, blessed the re-activation of the monastery project in 2009. Later in the year the monastery acquired twelve and a half acres of property with a house in Kemp, Texas.
Renovation of the house began on [[October 21]], 2009. The modifications provided a [[chapel]] and a renovated kitchen and living area with two [[cell]]s and housing facilities. After completion of the renovations, including the chapel, the monastery was blessed by Metr. Jonah on [[November 28]], 2009.
==Monastery Life==
The first floor of the finished building has a large meeting room, full kitchen with pantry, restrooms, office, workroom, a guest room, full heating and cooling system, new septic system, and grading and landscaping with more parking and equipment storage. An additional phase is completing the second floor, with additional guest rooms and storage and a large covered patio on the east side of the building.
